Preposition навстречу

навстречу (towards, in the opposite direction)

The preposition навстречу is used with noun in the dative case.

 

Мне навстречу шёл товарищ.

A friend was coming (in the opposite direction).

 

Экспедиция шла навстречу всем опасностям.

The expedition went on in the face of all the dangers
