перед (in front of)

The preposition над under followed by the instrumental case is used to denote the place and answers the question где?Where?

 

У нас небольшой сад перед  нашим домом.

We have a small garden in front of our house.

 

The preposition перед may be used to denote time.

Винот обсуждал с профессором перед экзаеном.

Vinod had discussion with the professor before the exam.
